About the position

The Network System Administrator Level 3 is responsible for organizing, installing, and supporting the computer systems of a government organization, including local and wide area networks. This role involves architecting, designing, and analyzing network models, as well as providing technical support to users. The position supports Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies and requires day-to-day management of network operations, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, install, and support computer systems including LANs, WANs, and data communication systems.
  • Architect, design, and analyze network models.
  • Provide technical support to computer users to resolve issues.
  • Lead IT operations team in day-to-day management of networks.
  • Implement capabilities vetted through Cybersecurity and maintain JSIG/RMF Authority to Operate.
  • Manage COTS & GOTS products for system security and performance metrics.
  • Assist during security assessments of servers and network devices.
  • Create operational Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists and build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs).
  • Manage monitoring tools with enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Execute cybersecurity operations procedures for network management.
  • Monitor and analyze cybersecurity tools for security incidents.
  • Assist in analyzing technical risk of emerging cybersecurity tools.
  • Work as part of a security incident response team as needed.
  • Assist with the integration and development of new techniques to improve network security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in network administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • IAT Level III certification.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with willingness to undergo a polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced technical competency in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and VMWare.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools such as ACAS, Nessus, and SCAP.
  • Familiarity with forensic analysis and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience with scripting and Group Policy management.
