About the position

System High Corporation is at the forefront of delivering advanced protection and secrecy solutions to secure critical missions, programs, operations, and intelligence activities. We are currently seeking a Network/System Administrator II who will play a vital role in our success by contributing innovative solutions to complex problems. This position is primarily focused on organizing, installing, and supporting the computer systems of government organizations, which includes local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems. The role will also involve assisting in the architecture, design, and analysis of network models, as well as participating in decisions regarding the procurement of future hardware or software to enhance the organization's infrastructure. The Network/System Administrator II will provide essential technical support to computer users, helping to resolve issues as they arise. This position will support activities within Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments efforts. Daily responsibilities will include providing support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities, ensuring that all systems are operational and secure. The successful candidate will be expected to operate with minimal supervision, manage day-to-day operations of systems and networks, and handle both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) products to monitor and remediate system security and performance. This includes following Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists, building Tactics, Techniques, and Processes (TTPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) associated with service checklists. The role will also require the operation of monitoring tools and capabilities within the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) framework, as well as assisting in the analysis of technical risks related to emerging cybersecurity tools and processes. Additionally, the candidate will work as part of a security incident response team as needed, demonstrating technical competency in various supported platforms such as Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, and various virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain service.
  • Build Tactics, Techniques, and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate monitoring tools within the enterprise security information and event management (SIEM).
  • Create and tailor complex event alarms/rules and summary reports.
  • Assist in analyzing technical risks of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
  • Work as part of a security incident response team as needed.

Requirements

  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in network/system administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level 2 within 6 months of hire.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, and RHEL operating systems administration.
  • Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching and virtualization technologies.
  • Working knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies and data backup technologies.
  • Working knowledge of communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration.
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework, Common Criteria, and System Security Policy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with forensic analysis and vulnerability assessment.
  • Familiarity with Group Policy management and configuration.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of video teleconferencing/VOIP technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle/MS SQL database security.
