About the position

Seneca Highlands IU9 is seeking a skilled Network/System Administrator to enhance technology services for school districts in Potter County. This role is essential for managing and maintaining network and server infrastructure, ensuring secure connectivity, and supporting IT systems critical to the educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the network through firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal uptime and performance.
• Manage and maintain servers, including Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms.
• Oversee data storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Implement and maintain network access controls, user authentication, and authorization protocols.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of educational software and applications.
• Provide technical support and training to staff and students on network and system-related issues.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute technology projects and upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Five years of IT experience with a strong background in network infrastructure planning, systems administration, and technology procurement.
