About the position
The Network/System Administrator (Net/Sys Admin) I is responsible for organizing, installing, and supporting computer systems for government organizations, including local and wide area networks. This role involves providing technical support, managing system operations, and participating in decisions regarding hardware and software upgrades. The position supports Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies and requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Organize, install, and support computer systems including LANs, WANs, and other data communication systems.
- Provide technical support to computer users to resolve issues.
- Execute day-to-day management and operations of systems and networks.
- Manage COTS & GOTS products for system security and performance functions.
- Follow Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists for service maintenance.
- Operate monitoring tools with enterprise security information and event management (SIEM).
- Assist in analyzing technical risk of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
- Work as part of a security incident response team as needed.
Requirements
- 1+ years of related experience in network/system administration.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years).
- Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
- Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching technologies.
Nice-to-haves
- SAP experience desired.
- IAT Level I certification within 6 months of hire (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security).
