About the position

The Network/System Administrator (Net/Sys Admin) III is responsible for organizing, installing, and supporting computer systems for a government organization, including local and wide area networks. This role involves architecting and analyzing network models, providing technical support, and ensuring the security and efficiency of network operations. The position supports Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense agencies and requires a high level of technical competency in various platforms and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, install, and support computer systems including LANs, WANs, and other data communication systems.
  • Architect, design, and analyze network models.
  • Provide technical support to computer users to resolve issues.
  • Lead IT operations team in day-to-day management of networks.
  • Manage COTS & GOTS products for system security and performance functions.
  • Assist during security assessments of servers and network devices.
  • Create operational Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists and build Tactics, Techniques, and Processes (TTPs).
  • Manage and operate monitoring tools with enterprise security information and event management (SIEM).
  • Execute cybersecurity operations procedures for network management and maintenance.
  • Monitor and analyze cybersecurity tools for reportable security incidents.
  • Assist in analyzing technical risk of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes.
  • Work as part of a security incident response team as needed.
  • Assist with the integration and development of new techniques to improve network security.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in network/system administration.
  • 2+ years of experience in Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or additional 4 years of related experience.
  • Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • IAT Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.) within 6 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server administration.
  • Knowledge of CISCO network and switching technologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD policy regarding system and network administration.
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework and its application to network environments.
