Leidos National Security Sector has an opportunity for an experienced Network Systems Administrator to work aboard government-owned Ocean Surveillance Ships conducting Surveillance Towed Array Sensory System (SURTASS) operations at sea. Technicians will be on a 6-month on and 3-month off rotating mission, working in excess of 40 hours per week. The selected applicant can reside anywhere within the United States as long as he/she is flexible for deployments and travel. As a member of the Ship's Operation Center (SOC) and the SURTASS team, you will be responsible for maintaining shipboard network connectivity and repairing CISCO servers, switches, and routers as part of the SURTASS program. You will assist with onsite shipboard network and communications systems repairs, upgrades, and installations on SURTASS Expeditionary and other similar mission vessels. You will employ technical solutions to perform any physical and/or software (CISCO IOS) patching as required and perform operations and maintenance of the Ship's Operation Center and Array Handling systems utilizing common and specialized tools, test equipment, manufacturer's manuals, schematic diagrams, and government procedures. This position offers the opportunity to work on UHF SATCOM, Communication, Processing, Passive and Active Arrays, and other supporting systems. You will become qualified in Ship Operation Center and Array Operation positions and participate in the deployment and retrieval of Tow Arrayed evolutions and all other SURTASS operations. Additionally, you will assist supervisors and other program managers in compiling data, procedures, and manuals, ensure proper maintenance of Logs and Records, and may be assigned COMSEC, logistics, 3M, or safety collateral duties. Participation in Leidos and Government Compliance Training programs is required, and you will share common spaces over lengthy deployment periods, working closely with others in a small working area and in a shipboard environment. This position requires close cooperation and working relationships with active-duty military, defense contractors, and government personnel.
