About the position

The National Security Agency (NSA) is seeking an expert-level Network System Engineer to support its technical mission office. This role involves designing, developing, deploying, sustaining, and monitoring advanced network solutions across various platforms and technologies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in networking, including multi-vendor infrastructure, network encryption, and data center architectures, and will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and security of NSA's network operations.

Responsibilities

• Support a technical mission office by designing and implementing network solutions.
• Develop and deploy state-of-the-art network solutions including WAN, CAN, LAN, DCN, and Satellite communications networks.
• Monitor and sustain network performance and security.
• Utilize multi-vendor infrastructure platforms and network encryption devices.
• Implement and manage Layer 3 routing protocols and Virtual Private Networking technologies.
• Engage with current networking trends, including Software Defined Networks (SDN).
• Utilize network monitoring tools and conduct network modeling.
• Manage network boundary solutions and cross-domain solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field plus 9 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree plus 7 years; or a Doctoral degree plus 5 years.
• Relevant experience in network or system administration.
• Experience in computer or information systems design/development, programming, or cybersecurity is preferred.
• Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, SEC+ are desirable.
