About the position

The National Security Agency (NSA) is seeking mid-level Network System Engineers to design, develop, deploy, sustain, and monitor advanced network solutions across various platforms. This role is crucial for supporting the agency's technical mission and requires a strong background in networking technologies and protocols. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art network solutions including WAN, LAN, and DCN.
• Sustain and monitor network performance and security.
• Support technical mission offices with networking expertise.
• Implement multi-vendor infrastructure platforms and network encryption devices.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure optimal network performance.
• Engage in load balancing and application delivery controller technologies.
• Work with virtual private networking technologies and data center architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 1 year with a Master's degree, or no experience with a Doctoral degree.
• Experience in network or system administration, including design/development and cybersecurity.
• Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or SEC+ are preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Software Defined Networks (SDN).
• Knowledge of network modeling tools like RiverBed/OPNet.
• Familiarity with Next Generation Firewalls and Cross Domain Solutions.
• Certifications in Network Security, Risk Management Framework (RMF), or Cybersecurity.
