About the position

The Network/System Engineer V position at BCforward is a critical role focused on overseeing the delivery of collaboration and productivity solutions within the banking sector. This includes managing the implementation of the M365 product suite, as well as voice and video solutions. The engineer will leverage their technical knowledge and process expertise to assess the requirements for introducing and enhancing the bank's collaboration and productivity services. The primary objective is to ensure that programs and projects are delivered comprehensively, covering all phases from design to build and operation, while maintaining a high standard of quality, user experience, and compliance with security protocols. In this role, the engineer will be responsible for managing the overall execution and health of programs, which includes monitoring tasks, risks, dependencies, and any impediments that may arise. They will be accountable for ensuring that the end-to-end plan is executed on time and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize tasks and track deliverables to completion. Engaging with both bank and vendor teams will be essential to define critical tasks and interdependencies necessary for successful delivery. The engineer will also be tasked with tracking user experience testing, managing user migration, and facilitating communication and training as required. They will develop service management measures and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the services delivered. Additionally, the role involves preparing briefing notes, reports, program updates, and action plans for senior management, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall program execution and program health inclusive of tasks, risks, dependencies, and impediments.
  • Accountable for end-to-end plan ensuring delivery by expected date.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize dependent tasks, track open deliverables to closure.
  • Engage and support bank and vendor teams to define critical tasks and inter-dependencies needed to deliver.
  • Track watch items, issues, and risks with corresponding mitigation plans for disposition before implementation.
  • Track user experience testing and document results, if required.
  • Manage user migration, communication, and training for programs as required.
  • Drive development of service management measures and KPIs as required.
  • Document improvement plans over the course of delivery as needed.
  • Prepare briefing notes, reports, program updates, and action plans for Senior Management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience delivering M365 or Regulated Messaging Services preferred, or equivalent technical projects.
  • Ability to work well with other bank team members to deliver on their tasks.
  • Strong communication (written and spoken) skills.
  • Expert organizational skills and analytical skills.
  • Effective attention to detail and ability to determine course of action as required.
  • Ability to learn bank's system and tollgates needed to perform role; knowledge of Jira preferred.
  • Interact effectively with teams, internal customers, and leadership as needed.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio.
  • 7-10 years experience working on technology initiatives.
