Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX, Atlanta, GA, and Chandler, AZ. This is a 12 + month contract position. The role involves defining and documenting the hardware, software, infrastructure components, modules, interfaces, scalability, and high availability solutions that meet specified business development and application integration requirements. The engineer will be responsible for installing, testing, tuning, upgrading, and loading patches, as well as troubleshooting server problems. Additionally, the position requires the installation of home-grown and vendor software, documenting the steps, and promoting to upstream teams for deployment. The engineer will also support issues with deployments in the upstream environments, ensuring smooth operations and integration of systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as experience with IBM WAS, IIS, and .NET application integration. Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, Firewall, and local and global load balancing is essential for this role. The ability to troubleshoot application integration issues in both Windows and Linux environments is crucial. Experience in an Agile model or workspace is also desired, as it aligns with the collaborative and iterative nature of the work.
