About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, GA. This is a 12 + month contract position. The role involves leading and participating in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities that require cross-functional technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities. The engineer will be responsible for components of highly complex engineering and analytical tasks and activities, establishing input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordinating subsystems design, and integrating the total system. As a technology subject matter expert, the engineer will provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences, including technical, managerial, business executives, and vendors. The position requires managing multiple complex projects and directing activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations. The engineer will lead the resolution process for complex problems, analyzing situations or data that require an in-depth evaluation of various factors. The role also involves exercising judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. The engineer will be responsible for designing the infrastructure systems for a portfolio of applications by matching current technology blueprints and standards with business and application requirements. This includes defining and documenting the hardware, software, infrastructure components, modules, interfaces, scalability, and high availability solutions to meet specified application, business, and company requirements. Additionally, the engineer will identify solutions and alternatives for keeping current and optimizing computer resources, investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions required for design and support of various types of enterprise applications, and collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Collaboration with other technical staff, such as networking teams, is essential to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. The engineer will also write and maintain system design drawings and system-specific detailed documentation, provide 3rd level support for major incident troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution for a portfolio of applications, and support issues with deployments in the upstream and downstream environments.

Requirements

  • Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of enterprise IT experience.
  • 5 years infrastructure related experience with very strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and application integration.
  • 2 years Enterprise level design experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Networking, Windows/Linux OS, Middleware, DMZ/Firewall, Local and Global load balancing expertise as it relates to midrange systems application integration and design.
  • Strong knowledge on Middleware technologies (WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat).
  • Strong knowledge on CICD tools.
