About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network/System Engineer for a 12+ month contract position with our client in the financial industry, located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, and Pennington, NJ. The primary focus of this role is to provide application and production support for IBM Guardium, a data protection application. The engineer will be responsible for managing the Guardium infrastructure, which includes the deployment and management of the Guardium agent that is deployed to database servers. This position requires a strong understanding of the complexities involved in maintaining a secure and efficient database environment, particularly in a financial context where data integrity and security are paramount. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in providing production support for IBM Guardium and will be adept at working effectively in a complex environment that spans multiple functions, shifts, platforms, and geographies. Strong communication skills are essential, as the engineer will need to influence and interact with all levels of the organization. Additionally, the ability to produce quality documentation is crucial, as the candidate must understand the differences between standard, best practice, design, and process documents. The role also involves completing complex processes that have multiple interdependent steps, requiring a methodical and detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Previous experience in providing Production Support for IBM Guardium Data Protection application and infrastructure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment spanning multiple functions, shifts, platforms, and geographies.
  • Strong communication skills to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to produce quality documentation, understanding the differences between standard, best practice, design, and process documents.
  • Capability to complete complex processes with multiple interdependent steps.
