The Network/Systems Administrator 4 position at GovCIO involves monitoring and managing data communications networks, ensuring their reliability and efficiency. This role requires the installation and maintenance of network equipment, troubleshooting network issues, and providing training to end-users. The position is fully remote within the United States and is part of a team dedicated to transforming government IT services.
Responsibilities
- Monitors, controls, and isolates problems in a data communications network.
- Monitors all network activity and activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules.
- Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination, interfacing with users and/or network vendors.
- Installs and maintains network equipment, including switches, hubs, and UPSs.
- Performs site network proposal walk-throughs and creates network plant proposals using graphical representation software.
- Maintains and repairs the network infrastructure, including operating systems, routers, and other network components.
- Troubleshoots and resolves network problems to ensure maximum availability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Provides on-site end-user training on system operation, maintenance, and limited troubleshooting.
Requirements
- High School diploma with 9+ years of experience or commensurate experience.
- 5 years experience with Windows systems administration.
- Must have an active HUD Public Trust clearance.
