About The Position

The Network/Systems Administrator II at Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is responsible for overseeing network and systems management at the Glen Burnie, MD facility. This role involves coordinating with enterprise Network & Server teams to support local computer systems, including LANs, WANs, and other data communication systems. The administrator will also assist in architecting, designing, and analyzing infrastructure requirements, as well as providing technical support to users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT role
  • In-depth knowledge of modern LAN/WAN technologies
  • Security architecture knowledge, including securing and hardening Operating Systems, Networks, Databases, and Applications
  • Knowledge of the Incident Response life-cycle
  • Thorough understanding of the threat and attack landscape, attack vectors, and vulnerabilities
  • General Programming Skills (PowerShell, YAML)
  • System Administration (Windows - 10/11, Server 2019/2022+, Linux - RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu)
  • General technical understanding and enterprise management
  • Provisioning/Imaging Standards
  • Telecommunications and Internet Technologies
  • Dependability, Verbal Communication, and Ability to Handle Pressure and Learn on the Fly

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and monitors system environment and equipment
  • Performs hardware/software/firmware/OS installation and upgrades
  • Configures systems to comply with the current CIS baselines
  • Adds and removes users in Active Directory, managing permission and account status
  • Creates/modifies/deletes security groups to maintain Active Directory structure
  • Conducts/supports routine maintenance requests on the infrastructure
  • Refreshes/replaces and configures existing hardware according to operational requirements
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all resources
  • Ensures backup operations are taking place and successfully completing per defined SLA
  • Conducts ongoing performance monitoring, tuning, and resource optimization
  • Monitors for system alerts, responding to and repairing when needed
  • Monitors local infrastructure vulnerability scans and remediates as appropriate
  • Reports information system violations of corporate policies to the SOC
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging technologies and participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
