GovCIO is seeking a dedicated Network Engineer to join our team in Martinsburg, WV, working the 2nd Shift from Sunday to Wednesday. This position is crucial for maintaining the operational and security capabilities of the VA's network gateways. As a Network Engineer, you will provide Tier II network engineering support to the VA Network Operations Center (NOC), responding to desk escalations through various communication channels including phone calls, emails, and the VA's ticketing system. Your role will involve maintaining existing NOC processes and procedures while also recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency. In addition to supporting the NOC, you will be responsible for maintaining evolving corporate knowledge, which includes managing information in diagrams, databases, and technical documentation. Participation in technical reviews will be a key aspect of your job, where you will recommend solutions and improvements based on your findings. Routine maintenance on network devices and services will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with network architecture and engineering transition teams on projects that are destined for operational implementation.
