Verisign is seeking a Network Systems Engineer IV to join our team in Reston, Virginia. This role is pivotal in ensuring the security, stability, and resiliency of the internet through the design and certification of mission-critical network services. As a trusted provider of internet infrastructure services, Verisign delivers unmatched performance in domain name system (DNS) services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to excel in both System Administration and network technologies, working closely with network engineers to solve complex problems and push the limits of current technology. In this position, you will be responsible for performing daily operations support functions, including problem isolation and resolution, while providing technical leadership in operational processes and change management. You will coordinate with other technical staff to implement high-quality, architecturally sound systems and software that align with business needs. A deep understanding of Verisign's applications and operational environments is essential, as is the ability to document processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans. Regular reporting of progress to management will also be a key aspect of this role. The primary objective of this position is to support and test Linux and VMWare-based network tools and appliances, while also assisting and eventually leading network-based projects. You will perform daily support of the lab, non-production, and production infrastructure, ensuring adherence to standards and compliance. Additionally, you will liaise between architecture and operations teams, taking high-level design artifacts and delivering production-ready solutions. Researching and integrating industry-standard methodologies in network and system orchestration and configuration management will be part of your responsibilities, as well as applying an automation mindset for continual improvement. Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation is also required.
