About the position

As a Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) at Arista Networks, you will be an integral part of the Sales Engineering team, collaborating with industry experts and technical leaders. Reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager, you will work closely with skilled field engineers to understand both the technology and its business implications, ensuring that our solutions align with the broader goals of our clients. Your role will involve significant collaboration with Product Management and Software Development teams, allowing you to influence product developments and strategic directions that best serve our customers and prospects. You will be supported by the Arista Technical Assistance Center (TAC), cutting-edge proof-of-concept resources, and the executive team, positioning you to lead and innovate in the networking industry. In this position, you will provide pre-sales technical support to enterprise and commercial clients in the Los Angeles and Orange County regions. As a Systems Engineer, you will act as a trusted advisor, gathering customer requirements and identifying opportunities with both existing and prospective clients. You will partner with Arista Account Managers to understand customer challenges and conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews. Additionally, you will present Arista's Open Networking Data Center and Cognitive Campus solutions, including CloudVision for network automation, security solutions, and real-time fabric monitoring. Your responsibilities will also include architecting, designing, and proposing Arista Data Center and Campus network solutions using advanced architectures such as VxLAN and EVPN. You will perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups and network designs, providing design guidelines and recommendations for improvements. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Sales Team to respond to RFPs and RFQs, provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering, represent Arista at industry events, and author white papers on technology and products. Keeping abreast of competitive solutions and industry trends will also be a key part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for enterprise and commercial clients in the Los Angeles and Orange County regions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, collecting their requirements and identifying opportunities.
  • Partner with Arista Account Managers to understand customer challenges and conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews.
  • Conduct product presentations of Arista's networking solutions, including CloudVision and security solutions.
  • Architect, design, and propose Arista Data Center and Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures.
  • Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups and network designs.
  • Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers' networks.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to respond to RFPs and RFQs.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Represent Arista at industry events and conferences.
  • Keep up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services.
  • Author white papers on technology and product.

Requirements

  • Experience in pre-sales technical support or a similar role in networking.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies, including VxLAN and EVPN.
  • Proficiency in designing and proposing network solutions for Data Centers and Campus environments.
  • Ability to conduct technical presentations and whiteboard sessions with clients.
  • Hands-on experience with network deployments and proof-of-concept setups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
