About the position

As a Network Systems Engineer (Pre-Sales) at Arista Networks, you will be an integral part of the Sales Engineering team, working closely with industry experts and technical leaders. This role is not just about understanding technology; it’s about aligning our innovative solutions with the business goals of our clients. You will report to the Regional Engineering Manager and collaborate with Arista Account Managers to gain a deep understanding of our enterprise and commercial clients. Your responsibilities will include conducting whiteboard network architectural reviews to identify areas for improvement in network performance and efficiency. In this position, you will conduct product presentations showcasing Arista's Open Networking Data Center and Cognitive Campus solutions, including CloudVision for network automation, security solutions, and real-time fabric monitoring. Your expertise in network design and implementation will be crucial as you create scalable data center and campus network solutions that enhance performance and efficiency. You will also be responsible for hands-on testing of customer proof-of-concept setups and network deployments, ensuring that our solutions meet the specific needs of clients in your region. Additionally, you will provide design guidelines and recommendations to clients, balancing their needs with proven Arista Validated Designs. Your role will involve collaborating with the sales team to respond to RFPs/RFQs and providing valuable feedback to Product Management and Engineering. As a representative of Arista at industry events, you will promote our innovative network solutions and stay current with industry trends and advancements. You will also author informative white papers that showcase your expertise in network design and implementation, helping to solve real-world customer challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, gathering requirements and identifying opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Collaborate with Arista Account Managers to understand enterprise and commercial clients and conduct network architectural reviews.
  • Conduct product presentations of Arista's networking solutions, including CloudVision and security solutions.
  • Utilize expertise in network design and implementation to create scalable data center and campus network solutions.
  • Conduct hands-on testing of customer proof-of-concept setups and network deployments using Arista products.
  • Offer design guidelines and recommendations to enhance network performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to respond to RFP/RFQs and provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Represent Arista at industry events and conferences to promote network solutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in networking technology.
  • Author and collaborate on informative white papers on Arista technology and products.

Requirements

  • Network Industry Certification preferred, such as ACE-L4, ACE-L6, ACE-L7, and others.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in L2/L3 networking design and implementation with a focus on Data Center, Campus, and Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Expert-level experience with routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols, and overlay technologies such as VxLAN.
  • Current hands-on experience in designing highly scalable leaf-spine network architectures.
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, and QoS.
  • Good understanding of the competitor technology landscape, specifically Cisco and Juniper.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the industry-standard Command Line Interface (CLI).
  • Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible is highly desired.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to create informative white papers on technology and products is highly desired.
