About the position

The Network Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting complex network and server infrastructures. This role involves troubleshooting, configuration management, and ensuring high availability of network services across various environments. The engineer will work independently to resolve issues and improve system performance while adhering to service level agreements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve various issues with server, network, and storage infrastructure.
• Perform build, configuration, and implementation of server infrastructure both virtual and physical.
• Take ownership of incidents and identify problem trends to improve the overall dependability of the environment and meet appropriate Service Level Agreements.
• Maintain and support production environments consisting of Microsoft Windows Server and VMWare.
• Write scripts and procedures for daily operations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant networking/systems experience
• 1 of the following certifications: M365E/X, VCP, CCNP, LPIC or Linux+
• Bachelor's Degree in networking, systems engineering or similar field
• Active Secret clearance
• Experience deploying servers or embedded systems and sub-components
• Analyze system performance and identification of risks
• Deploy and support of virtual network infrastructures including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Server Virtualization Infrastructure
• Develop System Design documentation
• Windows or Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of IP networking technology
• Knowledge of and VPN solutions
• Strong problem solving, analytic, and communication skills
• Ability to work well independently under pressure and time constraints, in a small team environment.
