About the position

The Network Systems Engineer at Qualis LLC plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainment and modernization of the Army's Mid-Range Missile capability. This position involves advising the Program Executive Office Missiles and Space Mid-Range Capability Project Office (MRCPO) on the design, development, and integration of the Battery Operation Center (BOC). The engineer will manage technical requirements and risks associated with the Department of Defense's Long Range Precision Fires initiative, ensuring the successful fielding of an experimental prototype battery. The role also includes systems architecture and integration of various weapon control systems within the BOC.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, prototyping, modernization, testing, and evaluation of BOC Network Systems software and hardware.
  • Provide systems engineering & integration support for weapons system network.
  • Develop network diagrams to include modernization efforts and network additions for added hardware.
  • Review and define system requirements.
  • Review and evaluate system technical specifications, designs, analyses, test plans/procedures, and technical data packages.
  • Interface with other government organizations and development contractors to facilitate preliminary concept exploration and candidate system design.
  • Develop and present briefings, analysis, and reports to industry, internal/external government organizations, and senior/executive leadership within DoD and the Federal Government.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of experience supporting engineering for weapon systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering for major defense acquisition program office or OEM
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of systems engineering and requirements analysis
  • Successful missile system fire direction and power systems development experience
  • Demonstrated experience with System Requirements Design Reviews
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Active Secret Clearance/with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within 12 months, if needed
  • Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
  • Experience in network/IP configurations management
  • Ability to work on-site
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Active TS/SCI
  • Successful technical missile system fire direction and power systems development experience with Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), Aegis Weapon System (AWS), the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), and the Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS)
  • Experience with fielded DoD internet terminal systems (Starlink, SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP), T2 Network Systems)
  • Knowledge of system interface requirements and requirements management as well as techniques to drive system behaviors
  • Experience preparing briefings and documentation
  • Familiar with conducting reviews of entrance and exit criteria
