About the position
The Network Systems Engineer will support the Army's Mid-Range Capability Project Office (MRCPO) by advising on the design, development, and modernization of the Battery Operation Center (BOC). This role involves managing technical requirements and risks associated with the Department of Defense's Long Range Precision Fires priority, contributing to the integration of various weapon systems, and ensuring the successful fielding of an experimental prototype battery.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Network Systems Engineer for the Program Executive Office - Missiles and Space Mid-Range Capability Project Office (MRCPO).
- Assist in managing technical requirements and risks for the Army's Long Range Precision Fires priority.
- Support the development, prototyping, modernization, testing, and evaluation of BOC Network Systems software and hardware.
- Provide systems engineering & integration support for weapons system network.
- Develop network diagrams for modernization efforts and network additions.
- Review and define system requirements and evaluate system technical specifications, designs, analyses, test plans/procedures, and technical data packages.
- Interface with government organizations and development contractors for concept exploration and system design.
- Develop and present briefings, analysis, and reports to various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- 10+ years of directly traceable experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering for major defense acquisition program office or OEM
- Experience in network/IP configurations management
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of systems engineering and requirements analysis
- Successful missile system fire direction and power systems development experience
- Demonstrated experience with System Requirements Design Reviews
Nice-to-haves
- TS/SCI clearance
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- Experience with Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), Aegis Weapon System (AWS), AFATDS, and JADOCS
- Experience with fielded DoD internet terminal systems (Starlink, SNAP, T2Network Systems)
- Knowledge of system interface requirements and requirements management
- Experience preparing briefings and documentation
- Familiar with conducting reviews of entrance and exit criteria
