About the position

The Network Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the design, architecture, installation, configuration, testing, documentation, maintenance, and administration of computer networks and related computing environments for government and defense agencies. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and critical thinking to ensure the security and effectiveness of critical systems, while also engaging in the integration of various sensor technologies and Command and Control software.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage critical thinking skills and technical writing in support of existing and future work for US Military and foreign defense customers.
  • Design and define network system architecture and develop systems requirements.
  • Integrate various sensors and Command and Control software into network systems.
  • Manage suppliers and write Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Conduct trade studies, use cases, and white papers.
  • Perform system level testing and troubleshooting both in-house and in the field.
  • Liaise with partners and subcontractors to verify specifications and produce Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience leading and defining Systems Level Architectures.
  • Experience in IT networks, routers, network switches, and servers.
  • Experience with networking RF systems including Land Mobile Radios, MANET radios, and Satcom.
  • Proficient in writing Systems Level Requirements and Plans, including System Modeling and Requirements Traceability.
  • Experience managing suppliers and writing Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Experience with Pursuits, Bids, and Proposals.
  • Experience with System Level Test and Troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years' experience in integrated sensor and surveillance technologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C++ and Java.
  • Competent with large-scale, distributed, federated system architectures.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as MATLAB and LabVIEW.
  • Understanding of Model Based Systems Design.
  • Knowledge of DOORs or similar requirements management tools.
  • Knowledge of cyber security.
