The Network & Systems Security Engineer at Tampa Electric is a pivotal role responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and support of both new and existing network and server infrastructure. This position is crucial in ensuring that all network security controls, including firewalls, web application firewalls (WAF), proxies, network segmentation, and access control lists (ACLs), are effectively implemented and managed in accordance with corporate information security standards. The engineer will assess enterprise and critical assets for secure configurations and maintain compliance with regulations and standards such as NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. In this role, the engineer will be accountable for the design, planning, operation, maintenance, and support of the TECO and NMGC network infrastructure. This includes managing network technologies such as routing and switching, on-premise LAN/WAN, IP address management (IPAM), Wi-Fi, ISP management, site-to-site VPNs, and perimeter firewall management. The engineer will also work closely with telecommunications teams to establish and upgrade existing circuits and communication links, ensuring robust disaster recovery plans are in place. The position requires a strong understanding of VoIP, SIP, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP routing, and various routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP. The engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of all WAN and LAN connectivity, including core and campus switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. Additionally, the role involves configuring and maintaining Smart GRID communication hardware and ensuring effective communication between control centers, power plants, solar sites, and substations. This position can be filled at various levels within the Analyst job family, depending on the candidate's education and experience.
