About the position

The Network Systems Cybersecurity Administrator is responsible for leading the design and implementation of cybersecurity policies and systems within the district. This role involves project management for deploying new technologies, ensuring the safe operation of systems, and maintaining the integrity of network security. The administrator will work closely with various stakeholders to align technology solutions with district goals and provide technical support and training to staff.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead cybersecurity policy designer and work with stakeholders to ensure safe implementation of technologies.
  • Manage projects for the deployment of new and upgraded systems throughout the district.
  • Consult with end-users to determine functional specifications and maintain systems for the district's online account structure.
  • Design and maintain the district's virtualized network and server systems.
  • Troubleshoot system hardware, software, and network components and facilitate repairs.
  • Direct the work of field technicians for system-related tasks.
  • Create and manage plans for subcontractors in system design and implementation.
  • Lead planning and design of district network and systems for interoperability.
  • Provide project plans and task progress reports to supervisors.
  • Maintain documentation of systems and components.
  • Facilitate training for MIS team members and customers on new systems.
  • Maintain logs and reports on project tasks and progress.
  • Maintain inventory and maintenance records of hardware and software components.
  • Monitor and report on cybersecurity activity and threats.
  • Act as the final line of support for technical issues requiring escalation.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through continual education and training.
  • Interact positively with team members, administration, students, and the community.

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience designing and maintaining enterprise systems.
  • Experience leading technology implementation projects.
  • Hands-on experience in repair and maintenance of network components and servers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in technology systems design and administration (preferred).
  • Experience administering enterprise network hardware and software.
  • Experience administering enterprise network security hardware and software.
