About the position
The Network Technician/Administrator at Arcfield is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network communication systems to support the organization's mission in cybersecurity and space defense. This role requires a strong focus on security, network performance, and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and plan network communications systems.
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
- Conduct cost/benefit analysis for hardware and software selection.
- Conduct testing of network design.
- Monitor network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration.
- Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
- Advise network users on hardware requirements and configurations.
- Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interconnection.
- Evaluate and report on new communications technologies.
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7 in relevant fields.
- Prior experience with network support and addressing availability issues.
- Ability to design, install, maintain, and coordinate network systems.
- Proven expertise with hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing network performance and diagnosing issues.
- Ability to maintain and update network security and system security plans.
- Minimum of 8 years creating and updating network policies, procedures, and standards.
