About the position

The Network Technician/Administrator at Arcfield is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network communication systems to support the organization's mission in cybersecurity and space defense. This role requires a strong focus on security, network performance, and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan network communications systems.
  • Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis for hardware and software selection.
  • Conduct testing of network design.
  • Monitor network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration.
  • Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
  • Advise network users on hardware requirements and configurations.
  • Maintain technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interconnection.
  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7 in relevant fields.
  • Prior experience with network support and addressing availability issues.
  • Ability to design, install, maintain, and coordinate network systems.
  • Proven expertise with hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing network performance and diagnosing issues.
  • Ability to maintain and update network security and system security plans.
  • Minimum of 8 years creating and updating network policies, procedures, and standards.
