About the position

American Woodmark is one of the nation's largest cabinet manufacturers, dedicated to partnering with major home centers, builders, and dealers to bring the visions of homeowners and designers to life. The Project Leader, Network Solutions, is a vital member of the Information Technology team, tasked with delivering all network and telecommunication services that support key business operations and critical applications across the enterprise. This role requires a deep understanding of network operations, including data centers, networking, telecommunications, cybersecurity, compliance, and related services. The Project Leader will maintain relationships with external network and telecommunication providers and contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering significant value. A strong emphasis is placed on customer service, focusing on systems availability, performance, reliability, security, and adherence to established service level metrics. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Network Engineering/Architecture and 3 years in IT support, with a preference for candidates who have 2 years of experience in Cisco support. The role demands hands-on experience in configuring Cisco products and other communication equipment in a global enterprise environment, as well as expertise in installing, configuring, and managing routers, switches, and wireless devices. The Project Leader will engage in a variety of networking tasks, including planning, design, testing, integration, and deployment of secure, high-speed voice, data, and video networks. A network certification such as CCNP or CCIE is preferred, along with a broad knowledge of IT infrastructure and security practices. The candidate should also be familiar with virtualization platforms, Microsoft servers, cloud-based services, and various networking technologies. In addition to technical expertise, the Project Leader must possess strong influencing and negotiation skills, analytical and strategic thinking abilities, and a solid understanding of the enterprise's business units. The role involves building consensus, making informed decisions, and driving major initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Project Leader will also be responsible for technical input into network and telecommunication projects, participating in the development of IT architecture and technology roadmaps, and monitoring customer satisfaction and service delivery management. This position typically does not have supervisory responsibilities but plays a crucial role in shaping the company's IT strategy and governance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for technical input into all network and telecommunication projects and technologies to ensure alignment with overall strategic direction.
  • Participate in the development of the IT architecture, technology roadmap, and governance related to comprehensive systems modernization strategy.
  • Monitor and continue to improve upon customer satisfaction and service delivery management.
  • Participate in the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of the network and telecommunication services that support the company's operations and business applications.
  • Establish appropriate service levels and the processes to ensure that KPIs are met.
  • Oversee root cause analysis process for related incidents including; problem tracking, RCA templates, post-mortems, and action item follow-up, monthly metrics.
  • Defines, develops and manages a comprehensive and integrated ITSM landscape, based on best-practice processes, disciplines and related toolsets.
  • Provides input on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into network and telecommunication products and services to successfully deliver overall IT strategy.
  • Supports the development of a network and telecommunication sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
  • Serves on IT planning and policymaking committees; drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering/Architecture experience.
  • 3+ years in IT support.
  • 2+ years in Cisco support is a plus.
  • Strong hands-on experience in the configuration of Cisco products and other communications equipment/suites in a global enterprise environment.
  • Experience with the install, configuration, and management of routers, switches, and wireless devices.
  • Experience in a broad range of networking tasks including planning, design, test, integration and deployment of high-speed, secure, highly survivable, voice, data - video networks.
  • Network certification (CCNP/CCIE) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of various system, network, and security practices.
  • Must have knowledge of all aspects of IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with infrastructure management tools.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms: e.g. VMWare, Citrix.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft servers, Active Directory.
  • Experience with cloud-based services: Office 365, SSO, AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with networking, cloud, server, storage and client technologies: (e.g. SAN, VSAN, IaaS, automation, backup, business continuity, disaster recovery, ITSMS, VoIP, LAN, WAN, SDWAN, clients, mobile, video, VDI and SBC).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledgeable in how to apply network and telecommunication capabilities to achieve regulatory or statutory compliance requirements.
  • Expertise in establishing and improving infrastructure operations, as well as other working practices (e.g., ITIL).
