The City of Chandler Information Technology Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Network and Telecommunications Principal Engineer. This full-time position is scheduled to work 5 days a week, 8 hours per day, and is exempt from overtime. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances, and monitoring/reporting systems. This role requires a high level of expertise and leadership in managing complex network environments and developing innovative network architectures. The successful candidate will be passionate about customer service, teamwork, collaboration, and innovation, and will play a key role in ensuring the city's network infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficient. As a Network Principal Engineer, you will lead network projects and collaborate with team members to provide exceptional service and support. You will ensure that network security and performance standards are met, troubleshoot and resolve advanced network issues promptly, and provide expert consultation on network-related projects. Additionally, you will develop and implement innovative network policies, procedures, standards, and architectures, oversee the architecture and design of the city's network infrastructure, and conduct regular network performance assessments to optimize configurations. Mentoring and training junior network engineers will also be a critical part of your role, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
