About the position

The Network Test Engineer position at Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is a full-time role focused on preparing test procedures and documentation for network systems. The engineer will troubleshoot complex IP networks, report on product performance, and create technical documentation. This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and is based in Chandler, AZ, with a relocation package available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Prepares test procedures and documentation from initial design phase through production.
• Troubleshoots moderate to complex IP networks, requiring an in-depth understanding of ISO layers of IP networking.
• Reports, tracks, and monitors product performance, capabilities, and defects.
• Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to illustrate system operating characteristics and malfunctions.
• Creates and sets up test fixtures.
• Creates, interprets, and modifies programming source code in multiple languages for automated test software.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field expertise
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in Ethernet network systems with routers and switches
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in programming; C/C++, Python and Java preferred
• Knowledge in Ethernet, TCP/IP Protocols, VLAN, QoS, Managed Ethernet Switches and Routers
• Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, CCIE) or equivalent is desirable
• Familiarity with network test equipment and IP traffic analyzers such as Spirent TestCenter and Wireshark is a plus.
