About the position

The Network Tester 4 position at JND Solutions is a full-time role based in Berkeley Heights, NJ, where the successful candidate will engage in a variety of testing and troubleshooting activities related to wireless voice and data networking. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree in telecommunications or a related field and between 1 to 3 years of relevant technical experience. The position is fully onsite, with working hours from 9 AM to 6 PM. The primary responsibilities include executing interoperability test plans, performing various types of testing such as sanity, stability, functionality, stress, and feature testing on different devices. The candidate will also be responsible for lab testing and evaluating new wireless products and accessories, ensuring compliance with product features by simulating various customer applications. In addition to testing, the role involves preparing test results data and writing engineering reports to document compliance with requirements and test plans. The candidate will work closely with team members to ensure effective collaboration and communication throughout the testing process. The position also requires travel, estimated at 30%, to support testing activities at different locations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with various telecommunications technologies, including CDMA, EVDO, LTE, and 5G NR, as well as familiarity with Qualcomm tools and Spirent/Metrico tools. Responsibilities

  • Testing QA specified field interoperability test plans (FIT)
  • Testing/troubleshooting hardware, software, and embedded software used in wireless voice and data networking
  • Performing sanity testing, stability testing, functionality testing, stress testing, and feature testing on various devices
  • Conducting lab tests and evaluating new wireless products and accessories
  • Preparing test results data and writing required engineering reports to ensure product compliance with requirements and test plans
  • Working effectively with team members

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in telecommunications or computer science related field
  • 1-3 years of technical or telecommunications engineering related experience
  • Prior experience with CDMA, EVDO, LTE, 5G NR desired
  • Familiarity with Qualcomm tools such as QXDM, QCAT, and QPST desired
  • Experience with post-processing tools such as WindCatcher, Actix, or XCAL/XCAP-M desired
  • Previous cell phone testing experience desired
  • Experience with operating systems such as Windows, MAC, and Linux
  • Experience with Spirent/Metrico tools such as NOMAD, MUSE, and Datum is desired
  • Experience running FIT test plans for Verizon, US Cellular, or other US NMOs is desired
