About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Network Tools Engineer to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. In this role, you will be responsible for leading or participating in the implementation of network security policies across routers and firewalls. You will manage production networks, including the Internet Protocol backbone, data centers, and edge points of presence (pops) across the globe, ensuring the continuous availability of all data network services. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying gaps, risks, and issues within the network infrastructure and navigating the organizational structure to resolve them effectively. As a Network Tools Engineer, you will perform quarterly proactive network testing to ensure the proper functioning and reliability of the network. You will investigate and remediate network capacity-related issues, applying your knowledge of security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions. Additionally, you will provide resolution information and collaborate with other teams to complete impact analysis, delivering comprehensive maintenance plans for change management review and approval. Mentoring and training the network operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network tools will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence. This position requires a proactive approach to network management and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in implementing network security policies across routers and firewalls
  • Manage production networks including Internet Protocol backbone, data centers, and edge pops across the globe
  • Ensure the continuous availability of all data network services
  • Identify gaps, risks, and issues and navigate organizational structure to resolve them
  • Perform quarterly proactive network testing to ensure proper functioning and reliability of the network
  • Investigate and remediate network capacity related issues
  • Apply knowledge of security and regulatory policies to design and implement secured network solutions
  • Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis
  • Deliver comprehensive maintenance plans for change management review and approval
  • Mentor and train network operations team in installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with product engineering on Network Management tools & applications
  • 4+ years of Linux operating systems administration
  • 4+ years of working experience with network management tools like performance/fault or configuration management tools
  • 3+ years of shell command-line experience or support of Perl, Python, or other development/scripting languages
  • 2+ years of Agile Delivery experience
  • 5+ years of experience with configuration management and automation on Network devices, Telemetry data, Data streaming, and traffic analysis

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Broadcom Network monitoring tools such as Spectrum, NetOps, and AppNeta
  • Experience with Broadcom DX NetOps, AppNeta, DX Virtual Network Assurance, DXOI, Traffic Analysis Tools like Apcon, Netscout, Extrahop, Arista DMF, Arista CVaaS, FORTINET Applications
  • Working knowledge of Big Data solutions like Elastic Search, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Splunk
  • CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge with experience in network domain knowledge on all areas including network designing and troubleshooting network issues in large scale enterprises with vendors including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5
  • Experience with network automation, visualization, and diagramming applications
  • Experience in integration of applications and application data
  • Working knowledge of lifecycle management, including implementation, maintenance, patching, health checks, application capacity planning, and decommissioning
  • Experience in a large corporation/enterprise environment with tens of thousands of devices
  • Good understanding of management process frameworks, such as ITIL
  • 2+ years of applied workflow automation development
  • 4+ years of Linux administration
  • 4+ years experience with Virtual Machine hosted deployments
