Lentech has a unique opportunity for a skilled Network/TTC engineer to join a fast-paced, accomplished team working with state-of-the-art tools and technologies while protecting some of our nation's most critical assets; it's People! The position requires a current TS/SCI Full Scope Poly clearance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VMware and Windows administration, including troubleshooting, upgrades, and migration. A strong working knowledge of ESX servers from the command line is essential, along with skills in monitoring and performance analysis on ESX servers and VMs. Responsibilities include patching ESX servers and VMs using VMware Update Manager, as well as managing backups and restores of VMware servers and virtual sessions. The role also involves the installation, configuration, and administration of components in a large VMware environment, adhering to best practices for vCenter, VMware Update Manager, vCenter Operation Manager, and vCenter Site Recovery Manager. Candidates should have experience with server consolidation and virtualization for hardware reduction and site migration via P2V and V2V processes. Upgrading ESXi hosts and VM guests using Update Manager is also a key responsibility. The engineer will need excellent analytical skills to identify issues and gaps, recommend solutions, and audit the environment to provide recommendations for operational improvements. In addition, the engineer will develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to investigate and solve complex system design requirements and problems. Responsibilities include dealing with hardware and software issues, reviewing literature and current practices, evaluating vendor capabilities, maintaining security posture, and ensuring server data integrity. Regular hardware and software audits of servers will be conducted to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. The engineer will also respond to system alerts, engage in troubleshooting, and collaborate with vendors on product capabilities and improvements. The position requires good communication and customer interaction skills, and the candidate must be willing to support after-hour activities.
