About the position

The Network Voice, Video & Collaboration Engineer position at Sira Consulting Inc is a critical role that focuses on ensuring the infrastructure and processes for Voice, Call Center, Collaboration Services, and Video Solutions are optimized to deliver the best user experience globally. This position is part of a dedicated team responsible for architecting, designing, building, and deploying IT infrastructure solutions for customers worldwide. The engineer will collaborate closely with business leaders, vendors, and technical colleagues to gather requirements, analyze needs, and develop infrastructure solutions that meet business objectives. In this role, the engineer will be expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of various infrastructure technologies, including hardware, software, networking, voice, applications, cloud, and systems engineering. They will serve as a 4th level escalation point for operations issues that significantly impact business operations, ensuring that complex problems are resolved efficiently. The engineer will lead the design, engineering, implementation, deployment, documentation, testing, and ongoing capacity planning of infrastructure solutions, while also being responsible for root cause analysis and operational readiness documentation. The position requires a proactive approach to evaluating the impact of proposed changes, providing recommendations to management, and leading technical discussions. The engineer will also be responsible for training other resources and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role is essential for driving the technical architecture and roadmap definition for the organization, ensuring that the infrastructure remains robust and capable of supporting future growth and technological advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, engineering, implementation, deployment, documentation, testing, and ongoing capacity planning of infrastructure solutions.
  • Serves as an escalation point for operations (Tier 3 or Tier 4 support) for highly complex solution resolution.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis and may involve on-call rotation.
  • Leads proofs of concept for technology solutions and designs processes and templates for infrastructure implementations.
  • Responsible for solution documentation in support of operational readiness, including training and process development.
  • Evaluates the impact of proposed or required changes, providing recommendations to management with an impact assessment.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in one or more infrastructure technologies, creating solutions across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Contributes to roadmap definition, technical architecture, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Initiates and leads technical discussions, training other resources, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Translates technical specifications to business requirements and advises senior IT management on strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • CCNP or CCIE certification in Cisco Collaboration is mandatory.
  • Experience with Cisco Telephony & Video, MS Teams, and Webex.
  • Strong understanding of voice protocols such as T1 & E1 ISDN PRI, QSIG, H323, MGCP, and SIP.
  • Experience with collaboration tools integrations including Teams and WebEx.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing technologies like Microsoft Telepresence and Polycom.
  • Knowledge of call control systems including Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Avaya Communications Manager.
  • Experience with voicemail systems such as Cisco Unified Unity and Avaya Modular Messaging.
  • Understanding of contact center infrastructure and scripting, particularly with Cisco and Avaya systems.
  • Experience in Agile frameworks such as SCRUM and KANBAN.
