About the position

The Networking Solutions Architect - SDN role involves acting as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business needs, and providing tailored networking solutions. The position requires the development of high-level technical solutions, end-to-end network designs, and the ability to present these solutions effectively to customers. The architect will also be responsible for generating hardware configurations, writing statements of work, and maintaining technical certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Position yourself as a trusted advisor to clients and partner with them to understand their business needs.
  • Provide recommendations to clients regarding solutions and strategies.
  • Develop high-level technical solutions and present them to customers, including hardware, software, licensing, and professional services.
  • Collect business and technical requirements from clients.
  • Complete end-to-end, full lifecycle network designs.
  • Drive whiteboard conversations to facilitate discussions.
  • Create customer-facing presentations to communicate solutions effectively.
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to clients.
  • Generate hardware configurations (Bill of Materials).
  • Write statements of work (SoW) and develop professional service pricing using client tools.
  • Maintain and develop technical and technology-specific skill sets and certifications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of designing and implementing Software Defined and Legacy LAN and WAN networking.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • Knowledge of networking features and constraints including VPN, Cloud Direct Connect, Subnetting, Routing, etc.
  • Direct technical knowledge of manufacturer technologies.
  • Experience with Cisco Security Portfolio (ASA, FTD, ISE).
  • Experience with Cisco Enterprise Networking (Nexus/Catalyst Switches; ISR/ASR Routers).
  • Experience with Cisco Enterprise/Meraki Wireless.
  • Experience with Palo Alto NGFW.
  • Experience with F5 TMOS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with collaboration platforms (not required, but a plus).
  • Demonstrated skills in writing professional services scopes of work.
  • Estimating professional services effort.
  • Developing project Bills of Materials.
  • Previous experience migrating from private to public cloud environments (not required, but a plus).
