About the position

The Networking Technology Engineer role at Dell Technologies focuses on developing next-generation large-scale AI infrastructure, particularly in networking technologies such as switches, interconnect technologies, optics, transceivers, and cables. The position involves engaging with high-profile AI customers, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to optimize solutions, and leading supplier and category strategies to ensure the supply base is ready for future demands.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of next-generation large-scale AI Infrastructure with a focus on leading Networking technologies.
  • Engage with high-profile AI customers to optimize solutions for their applications.
  • Work closely with suppliers, CTO organization, and hardware engineering to enable the Networking supply base to move at scale.
  • Lead critical industry relationships with the supply base to develop advanced networking technologies for AI solutions.
  • Help develop business cases for future product strategies and position the supply base for working in the Dell supply chain at scale.
  • Engage with the supplier base on future technologies, identifying and developing their technical capabilities.
  • Build and mature the technical supply base to increase the number of potential sources.
  • Improve speed to market and delivery by benchmarking customers to drive product standardization and eliminate custom designs.
  • Enhance readiness for next-generation (N+1, N+2) solution components.
  • Build a product advantage in cost and/or continuity of supply for AI solutions.
  • Engage with procurement on supplier development strategies.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in technical design within the networking field.
  • Deep industry and supplier knowledge, particularly in product development and engineering.
  • Strong relationships with the supply base and the ability to build long-term technical engagement strategies.
  • Expertise in networking technologies, including switching, interconnects, cable technologies, optics, transceivers, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • 15+ years of industry experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent skill.
