About the position

The Neurodiagnostic Technologist at UCSF plays a crucial role in the Neurodiagnostic Services team, performing a variety of diagnostic tests to assess brain and nervous system activity. This position involves conducting routine and complex EEGs, Video EEGs in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Long Term EEG monitoring, and Evoked Potentials in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The technologist ensures the technical integrity and quality of all procedures, providing essential data for diagnosing neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex EEGs, Video EEGs, and Long Term EEG monitoring.
  • Conduct Evoked Potentials (EPs) and other specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure electrode and technical integrity during all procedures.
  • Maintain quality control of neurodiagnostic tests performed.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities and staff development programs.

Requirements

  • Experience in performing EEGs and other neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Knowledge of neurological conditions and disorders.
  • Ability to work in various clinical settings including inpatient and outpatient environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist (e.g., CNIM, R. EEG T.).
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
