About the position
The Department of Neurology at Stony Brook University's Renaissance School of Medicine is seeking faculty candidates for the Division of Neurohospital Medicine. This position offers an opportunity to join a collegial academic practice within a leading tertiary care facility, which includes a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center. The role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with a focus on hospital-based patient care and clinical teaching.
Responsibilities
- Provide week-day coverage of the general neurology inpatient and general consult service with limited teleneurology support.
- Manage favorable weekend and overnight call responsibilities.
- Supervise neurology residents, Advanced Practice Providers (APP's), and students.
- Engage in outpatient clinical opportunities.
- Develop innovative clinical, educational, or research programs based on academic interests.
Requirements
- MD degree (or foreign equivalent).
- Eligibility for New York State licensure.
- Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology.
- Strong interest in hospital-based patient care and clinical teaching.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience or interest in both general and stroke neurology.
- Research interest is desirable.
