About the position
The Neuropsychology Assessment Coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is responsible for administering, scoring, and processing neuropsychological assessments for patients in the Neuropsychology Clinic. This role involves supporting clinic operations and participating in multi-disciplinary assessment teams to determine surgical candidacy for medical diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Administer, score, and compile results of clinical neuropsychological test batteries and record behavioral observations independently or under minimal supervision.
- Participate in pre-surgical procedures as part of a multi-disciplinary assessment team.
- Assist in extracting relevant medical information from patient charts or obtain medical history from patients and their caregivers.
- Maintain research and/or clinical databases and historical assessment records.
- Assist with clinical duties including scheduling, patient correspondence, chart preparation, and telemedicine intake.
- Respond to and evaluate the unique needs of cognitively-impaired patients.
- Act in a caring and courteous manner towards all patients and caregivers.
- Provide training or mentorship to others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field required.
- Neuropsychological diagnostic assessment training or experience preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Neuropsychology assessment experience preferred.
