About the position

The New Car Sales Manager is a key member of the management team at a family-owned automotive dealership. This role requires extensive knowledge of vehicle selection, performance, and financing options, as well as the ability to lead and mentor a sales team. The manager will oversee sales activities, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain high standards of service both for external and internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the sales activities of the dealership personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all salespeople.
  • Directs sales staffing and training to enhance the development and control of sales programs.
  • Monitors salesperson productivity and performance.
  • Maintains and monitors manufacturer standards for customer satisfaction at or above dealership specified standards.
  • Attends and monitors product and sales training courses as required by dealership and/or manufacturer.
  • Orders/acquires new and used vehicle inventory.
  • Administers and monitors factory-sponsored programs.
  • Serves as liaison between sales department and other departments.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and attends management meetings.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately according to dealership guidelines and maintains high customer satisfaction standards.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in a high-volume new car automotive dealership with a proven track record required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to close sales and negotiation expertise.
  • Able to hold yourself accountable and achieve goals with limited direct supervision.
  • Import experience and an impressive work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Management experience of at least 1 year (Preferred).
  • Sales experience of at least 4 years (Preferred).
