About the position

The New Car Sales Manager at a multi-franchise luxury import dealership in Cleveland is responsible for leading and motivating the sales team to achieve sales objectives. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, sales strategy development, and performance monitoring to drive revenue and market share. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive retail sales management and will work closely with the General Manager and senior leadership to ensure the dealership meets its sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Set individual sales goals with the sales team to meet monthly/annual sales objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue and market share.
  • Coach, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and CRM usage, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Analyze competitive activity and pricing to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure effective merchandising.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to drive retention.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints.
  • Oversee desking, negotiation, and closing processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM/manufacturer rules and guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive industry regulations and practices.
  • Oversee the preparation of necessary paperwork for vehicle sales.
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Utilize CRM tools to track customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Organize ongoing training programs for the sales team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in an automotive retail sales management role.
  • Experience with CRM software, preferably Reynolds & Reynolds DMS.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work Saturdays and evenings.

Nice-to-haves
