This full-time position is ideal for those looking to start a career in plumbing, with no prior experience required, although one year of experience is preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Your duties will include reviewing building plans to determine plumbing layouts, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring the safe and efficient installation of pipes and fixtures. You will also be tasked with testing systems for leaks, performing quality inspections, and handling various plumbing fixtures and appliances. The position requires physical stamina, as you will be lifting heavy equipment, bending, standing, and climbing as part of your daily responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials.
  • Identify how to use safety required tools and special equipment.
  • Select the type and size of pipe required.
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
  • Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings.
  • Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls.
  • Install, repair and maintain underground storm sanitary and water piping systems.
  • Install, repair and maintain sinks, tubs and toilets.
  • Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners.
  • Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim.
  • Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Conduct quality inspections for their phase.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Valid government ID or driver's license/authorization to work and Social Security.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and diverse team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and flexibility to work long hours, if situation demands.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical activities such as lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, and walking.
  • Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical and other environmental hazards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in plumbing (preferred)
