At HNTB, we are looking for a New Grad Structural Engineer who will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of various structural elements and systems. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to apply their technical knowledge, develop practical skills, and contribute to the success of complex construction projects. As part of our team, you will assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. You will perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team, applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying sizes and complexities. In this role, you will leverage your technical knowledge to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs. You will develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. Your contributions will be vital to the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients. Specific tasks include assisting in the design and analysis of structural elements and systems, collaborating with senior engineers to evaluate project requirements, and utilizing structural analysis software such as SAP2000 and ETABS to perform structural calculations and verify design integrity. You will also support the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and construction documents, conduct site visits, and assist in the development of design reports and technical documentation. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of structural design elements. Staying updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices related to structural design will be essential, as will contributing to quality control processes and participating in design review meetings.
