This position is hybrid in nature requiring 2 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters facility in Cranberry Woods, PA in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity. As a New Grad Mechanical Engineer on our Reactor Vessel / Containment Vessel Design & Analysis Team, you will perform a variety of engineering work in support of nuclear power plants. Your responsibilities will include software programming using Visual Studio, conducting structural evaluations of ASME Section III components including stress and fatigue analysis, performing Fracture Mechanics Analysis including Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics, and executing Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, which is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of engineering work in support of nuclear power plants.
  • Conduct software programming including Visual Studio.
  • Evaluate structural integrity of ASME Section III components, focusing on stress and fatigue.
  • Perform Fracture Mechanics Analysis, including Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics.
  • Execute Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ASME Section III and Section XI criteria preferred (not required).
  • Experience with ASTM Code preferred (not required).
  • Experience with FEA and ANSYS/ABAQUS preferred (not required).
