The StaRN Residency Program at Rapides Regional Medical Center is a year-long initiative designed to facilitate the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. This program emphasizes hands-on experience, allowing participants to develop essential clinical and critical thinking skills in a supportive environment. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will be part of a community that includes nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents, all dedicated to fostering learning, clinical application, and socialization. The program includes advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training with a facility preceptor, and hands-on simulations to measure and evaluate skills. Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders and collaboration on evidence-based practice projects are also integral components of the residency. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and nursing standards. You will work closely with medical providers and other care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care. Your responsibilities will include assessing patient conditions, performing medical procedures, documenting care in patient medical records, administering medications, and monitoring patient responses. You will also be expected to educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications, ensuring that complex medical terminology is translated for complete understanding. This position is ideal for those looking to grow their nursing careers in a supportive and dynamic environment.
