About the position

The New Grad RN Nurse Residency at Menorah Medical Center is a full-time program designed for recent nursing graduates to transition from academic learning to practical nursing. This year-long residency provides hands-on experience, advanced clinical training, and mentorship from experienced nurses, ensuring that new graduates develop essential clinical and critical thinking skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary for unintended responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing completed by start date.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the State, with a grace period to pass NCLEX.

Nice-to-haves

• No previous experience needed, but any relevant clinical experience is a plus.
