About the position

The Practicum Student Residency Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital is designed for nursing students who are interested in specializing in a specific area of nursing. This program allows students to work closely with experienced registered nurses (RNs) to fulfill their clinical requirements while gaining practical experience in various specialty departments. Successful completion of the practicum may lead to a Registered Nurse position at the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with a JHH or JHBMC RN preceptor for a minimum of 120 hours.
• Fulfill school clinical requirements through hands-on experience in specialty departments.
• Apply and interview for both a practicum placement and a New Grad RN position simultaneously.

Requirements

• Final semester nursing students with graduation dates in May 2025.
• Strong interest in a specific nursing specialty.
