About the position

As a New Graduate Engineer at OHM Advisors, you will embark on a journey to advance communities through engineering excellence. Your role will involve researching and understanding applicable state, county, and local codes, ordinances, funding mechanisms such as grants and loans, and regulations that govern civil engineering projects. You will be introduced to the various project functions, objectives, and requirements typical of your assigned discipline, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the engineering landscape at OHM Advisors. In this position, you will be responsible for completing introductory technical project tasks within your discipline while coordinating your work with other team members. This collaborative approach is essential as you will participate in the collection and analysis of data, preparing satisfactory designs for roadways, municipal utilities, and other infrastructure projects. You will also perform design calculations and conduct investigative analyses to support the completion of assigned design tasks, ensuring that all specifications meet the required standards. Your responsibilities will extend to performing quantity estimates, detailing, and checking calculations and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Additionally, you will organize the scheduling of specific tasks and assignments, and conduct reviews of development plans and stormwater management plans, contributing to the overall success of the engineering group at OHM Advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the collection and analysis of data and preparation of satisfactory designs for roadways, municipal utilities, and other infrastructure.
  • Perform design calculations and conduct investigation analysis towards the completion of assigned design tasks and direct preparation of design specifications.
  • Perform quantity estimates, detailing, and check calculations and drawings.
  • Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments.
  • Conduct review of development plans and stormwater management plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required with an interest in Municipal, Transportation, Site Design, and/or Field Service Engineering.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working in AutoCAD, Civil 3D a plus.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and internship/co-op experience preferred.
