Hatch is currently seeking Junior Civil or Structural Engineering graduates to join its team in Columbus, OH. The Engineer will provide engineering analysis, design, and construction observation support for a wide range of local and national water, wastewater, and site development projects. As an Engineer, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) to incorporate design concepts into design development and work with the project team to produce construction documents. You will interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate specific assignments pertaining to the overall project with fellow team members. You will perform work compliant with client contractual terms and local, state, and federal codes, ordinances, rules, and/or regulations while ensuring completion on time and on budget. You will coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multi-disciplinary team members. The responsibilities of the position include assisting the Lead Civil Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule. You will prepare Engineering Work Packages (EWPs) in consultation with the Lead Civil Engineer, perform conceptual and detailed engineering design, prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, data sheets, and contribute to technical memos and reports within areas of expertise. You will also provide input to engineering, operating, and capital cost estimates, prepare and/or review project procedures, standard specifications, and design criteria, and participate in design reviews. Carrying out assigned tasks within budget and schedule, assisting in defining project scope, and reviewing technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians, and technologists are also key aspects of the role. Construction supervision and management will depend on project demands, and you will assist in the commissioning on-site as required, as well as compile and incorporate the safety in design plan.
