About the position

The New Graduate Nurse RN Resident position at Menorah Medical Center is designed for recent nursing graduates who are eager to transition from academic learning to practical, hands-on experience in a supportive healthcare environment. This role is part of the HCA Nurse Residency Program, a year-long initiative that provides new nurses with the necessary tools and training to succeed in their nursing careers. The program emphasizes clinical and critical thinking skills, allowing residents to gain valuable experience in various nursing specialties, including Emergency Room, Cardiac Care, Float Pool, Critical Care Float Pool, Medical Telemetry, Medical Surgical, and Ortho Neuro. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will be immersed in a culture of teamwork and inclusiveness, surrounded by a community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents. The program includes advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, and hands-on simulations to measure and evaluate your skills. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively on evidence-based practice projects, ensuring that you are well-prepared to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver care in accordance with the specific requirements of your department, advocating for patients and their families to support an unparalleled patient experience. You will assess patient conditions, perform medical procedures, administer medications, and educate patients and their families about treatment plans and medical conditions. Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
  • Other Certifications may be required during employment
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
  • No previous experience needed
