The New Graduate Nurse - RN Resident I and II position at HCA Healthcare is designed for recent nursing graduates seeking to transition into professional nursing roles. The role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with medical providers and care teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary for unintended responses.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing to be completed before start date.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State, with preference for passing the NCLEX prior to start date.
  • No previous experience needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Some travel may be needed for training, remaining local to the Kansas City metro area.
