About the position

The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year-long initiative designed to support new graduate nurses in their transition from student to registered nurse. This program provides hands-on experience, advanced clinical training, and mentorship from experienced nurse leaders, fostering the development of essential clinical and critical thinking skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting care in the patient medical record in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses, intervening as necessary in case of unintended responses.
• Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the State.
• No previous experience required.
